Stackhouse takes charge at Activision
Roy Stackhouse is the new general manager of Activision’s UK and Ireland division, replacing interim boss Andrew Brown.Brown took over for a brief spell following the departure of former UK and Ireland MD Peter Hepworth.
Stackhouse has been at Activision for over six years, and had most recently been the company’s commercial director for UK and Ireland. He previously worked for shaving firm Gillette for nine years as channel controller. Stackhouse also won the Retail Advisory Board’s Special Recognition prize at the MCV Awards in 2010.
Activision UK market operations director Angela Dickson has taken on the role of new sales director for UK and Ireland.

Sharpe leaves Play.com
Keith Sharpe will be leaving his position as games buyer at Play.com at the end of the month to return to life as a photographer. He has been at Play.com since 2006 is leaving the company as the site becomes a market-place only online store. He was also a member of MCV’s Retail Advisory Board.
Thatgamecompany founder joins Ouya
The former co-founder of Thatgamecompany, Kellee Santiago, has joined Ouya to lead its developer relations. Ouya is the name of the upcoming Kickstarter-funded?Android-based games console. Santiago, who was a key part of Journey maker Thatgamecompany, left the studio in March last year.
Ouya gets it,” said Santiago. This is the first console company that really understands how important it is to remove the barriers to development. By freeing up the development process, Ouya is opening up new doors in console gaming.”
West leaves Respawn
Call of Duty co-creator Jason West has left development studio Respawn Entertainment due to a family issue. West was one of the co-founders of Infinity Ward, along with Vince Zampella and oversaw Call of Duty’s rise to global dominance. They set up Respawn in 2010.
It is sad to see things come to an end, but there are times when change is best for growth, both personally and professionally. I wish Jason the best and send my best wishes to his family,” said Zampella.
Hanlin departs Trion for Zynga
Hal Hanlin has left Trion Worlds to join Zynga as a producer. Hanlin had worked at Trion Worlds since September 2008 where he was a producer on MMORPG Rift.
