Rob Lowe leaving Nintendo for BBC
Rob Lowe will leave Nintendo UK on June 1st.
He is moving to BBC Worldwide, where he will take up the role of marketing director. Lowe has been at Nintendo since 2004. Before that, he was a category product manager at retail chain Dixons.
Lowe was one of the execs responsible for the launch of Wii in the UK. His replacement will be announced at a later date, as will the new marketing boss stepping in for Dawn Paine.
Rob has been a valuable member of the UK marketing team and whilst we are sad to see him go, we are proud to watch a member of our Nintendo family start a new chapter in their career,” said Nintendo UK general manager David Yarnton.

HMV: Former Tesco buyer Fethers joins HMV
The entertainment retailer has hired Mike Fethers as games peripherals and digital buyer.
Fethers previously held a similar role at Tesco and replaces recent HMV departee Gavin Howes, who has joined Carphone Warehouse.
I’m thrilled to be joining HMV at this exciting time,” said Fethers. It’s a company that has great heritage, but is now also responding to the fresh opportunities that are being increasingly presented by the new and different ways that gamers are discovering and enjoying games content.”

GAME: CEO Ian Shepherd steps down
CEO Ian Shepherd has resigned following the troubled retailer’s entry into administration.In an internal memo, he explained: I’ve said a number of times that the administrator, once appointed, takes charge of the business. Having two people try to do that is both confusing and a waste of money. With that in mind, I’ve agreed with Mike Jarvis [from administrator PwC] that I will step down as CEO and leave the business immediately.”
Infinity Ward: Bowling leaves CoD studio
Creative strategist Robert Bowling has left the Call of Duty studio.He worked at Infinity Ward for six years, during which he helped develop and launch the Modern Warfare franchise.
An Activision statement read: We sincerely thank Robert for his many years of service.”
