JOHN SCHAPPERT RESIGNS FROM ZYNGA

Former EA exec John Schappert has resigned from his role as COO at Zynga.

His departure was revealed by an SEC filing earlier this week. The news comes no more than a week following Schappert’s reportedremoval from his game development dutieswith the company.

CAPERFLY HIRES FORMER SEGA BOSS HAYES
Former Sega CEO Mke Hayes has joined Caperfly as its non-executive director. Hayes will help develop a business model and help grow the UK mobile games developer working with CEO Gavin Cheshire.

Mike has achieved a great deal in his impressive games industry career,” said Cheshire, It is a privilege for us to have him on the team.

He will join Caperfly during a very exciting period of the business, as we accelerate through our plan, and then onto the launch of our first application.”

Hayes joined Sega in 2004 as it moved from being a format-holder to a multiplatform developer and publisher. He helped steer the transition into a more digital-based software company, launching one of the first game apps on iOS.

Hayes said: This is a good time to be in this new vibrant sector of the industry. I am positive we can take advantage of the next great wave of innovation and distribution here at Caperfly.”

BASTION PR PROMOTES RAVI VIJH
Ravi Vijh has been promoted from account executive to account manager at Bastion PR. Vijh joined the firm as part of their internship programme and worked his way up from account executive to account manager in just three years.

Vijh will head up the NCsoft account working on key titles such as Guild Wars 2 as well as working on 505 Games and Toy Fair.

Prior to joining Bastion, Vijh worked at Pritcharts Park as VP?of services. He also studied Political Science at the University of Birmingham.

PRO-G MEDIA HIRES NEW VIDEO AND PODCAST EDITOR
Matthew Nellis has joined the Videogamer team as its new video editor. Nellis will work alongside features editor Neon Kelly, reviews editor Martin Gaston?and staff writer David Scammell.

He will take over video responsibilities by creating original content for the games website as well as producing the Videogamer podcast.

We’re delighted to have Matt onboard, hiring him was a no brainer – he’s an obsessive gamer,” said operations director Adam McCann.

He brings several years of experience in video production to the company. Matt is cooking up a some exciting things in the video department which we cannot wait to reveal.”

Nellis joins Videogamer after working as a technologies assistant for Maverick Media, where he helped create award winning video game trailers. Prior to that, he worked in the TV industry working on live news for Bloomberg TV.
