A new browser and social games contest has launched with a €1 million prize pool for several winning entrants.
Computec Media is looking for five standout games with potential to become the next Farmville in the thriving online games space. Any game developer with a new, unreleased browser or social game can pitch their project with the chance to win.
As much as €750,000 of the €1m prize pool will be spent on advertising and promoting the games. Computec Media says it has a deal in place with numerous games publications with a combined readership of five million.
The remaining €250,000 will be given to the winning entrants as royalty and development pay.
Developers have until April 15 to register their interest, and by June 30 they will need to have submitted their game.
In August, a jury of five industry professionals will pick the winning entrants, which will be announced in public at Gamescom – the largest games event in Europe. A marketing blitz, at the cost of up to €750,000, will commence a month later.
