Japanese developer Marvelous has postponed the release of an upcoming Vita game because it is concerned there is not enough interest to make it financially viable.
Siliconera reports that Uppers was due for release on April 21st, but producer Kenichiro Takaki has confirmed that pre-orders were so low the company no longer feels confident enough to release it.
This means it will now miss the arrival of the associated anime that it had hoped to launch alongside.
However, he also stressed that the game has not been abandoned. Instead, Marvelous intends to market the title further in the hope that increased awareness will lead to an uplift in interest and pre-orders, making a release viable at some stage in the future.
