There is one week left for developers to enter the £100,000 Tiga games contest, which ends on January 26th.
The competition, funded by the University of Abertay’s Prototype Fund, will offer four prizes to successful applicants, who will receive £25,000 funding each.
Winners in the three categories, which are games on-the-move, games in-the-home and social web gaming, will also get Tiga membership for six months and mentoring and support from technical teams at contest supporters Antix Labs or Turbulenz.
“Getting funding for exciting new projects can be difficult, so we’d strongly encourage developers to apply for this exciting opportunity,” said Abertay Uni director Paul Durrant.
“As well as receiving £25,000, working with TIGA, Turbulenz and Antix for mentoring and support is a great opportunity for any company. We’ve seen strong interest so far in this contest, so are expecting some innovative responses to the challenges.
“The Abertay University Prototype Fund is all about creating these new opportunities, and we look forward to funding more fantastic game ideas with strong business potential.”
Applications to enter the contest must be sent in by noon on Thursday January 26th, with successful applicants being judged on their market potential, a commercially viable business model, and the fit with the category briefs.
