PCGamer.com page views jump 109% following redesign

Future’s PC gaming site PCGamer.com has experienced what the company says is record-breaking growth following the roll-out of its redesign last month.

Worldwide, page views for the month hit 52m – 109 per cent up on the previous record of 24.9m. Page views have jumped 111 per cent and average user time is up 22 per cent.

In the UK page views are up 94 per cent month-on-month, with mobile views climbing 93 per cent and average user time up ten per cent.

Part of the success was credited to the site’s renewed emphasis on hardware, specifically buyer’s guides, as well as increased video content.

We’ve been absolutely delighted by the response from readers so far, but also see this new design as just the first step,” PC Gamer’s global editor-in-chief Tim Clark said. We have big plans in terms of how our hardware, e-sports and video coverage are going to evolve, so stay tuned for those.”

Future CEO Zillah Byng-Maddick added: "At Future, we are relentless in our objective to create unique content that connects with our audiences, the relaunch of PC Gamer has been a resounding thumbs up from our readers in achieving this. The performance of the site and the overall engagement levels have surpassed our own expectations, with the renewed emphasis on Hardware being a highlight.”
