Trade association secures funds for 36 per cent of British contingent

Tiga supports UK’s Game Connection Lyon attendees

UK developer trade body Tiga has secured funding for British attendees of this week’s Game Connection Europe event in Lyon.

The organisation has used its new accredited status to secure funding from UK Trade and Industry’s Tradeshow Access Programme, making it able to support ’36 per cent of the 13 UK companies’ at the event. according to CEO Richard Wilson.

“One of Tiga’s principal activities is to develop services that enhance the competitiveness of Tiga members. This will help to make the UK the best place in the world to do games business. Our aim is to build a package of services that make a material difference to games businesses and so strengthen their long term growth prospects," said Wilson.

“Tiga has recently been awarded accreditation status to work with UKT&I’s Tradeshow Access Programme in delivering support to UK businesses exhibiting at overseas trade shows. As an accredited trade organisation, Tiga can provide substantial financial assistance for games developers, technology and middleware providers attending trade shows.

He added: “I look forward to meeting all of the UK games businesses attending Games Connection Europe this week. I hope that Tiga will be able to support even more businesses at other trade shows in the future.”
