Culture minister Ed Vaizey held meetings with games firms today over Research and Development tax credits.
The likes of UKIE, Tiga, Revolution Software, Ubisoft Reflections and Playfish were at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport for the talks.
Vaizey said: "We are making sure that games are at the core of our thinking and discussing how the creative industries can play a key role in our economic recovery.”
The meeting comes weeks before the release of the anticipated Livingstone Hope review on skills.
Last year the coalition government withdrew plans to introduce game tax breaks in the UK.
