A Yoostar 2 Facebook app will help the Move and Kinect title attract millions of casual gamers.
It will allow users of the movie karaoke title to earn in-game currency and take part in film clips that aren’t in the console version.
Yoostar has also struck a deal with YouTube which will allow players to upload film clips to the video sharing website. The news comes after the firm partnered with Namco Bandai to distribute and market Yoostar 2 in Europe.
I’d like to see us have strong relationships with the Googles and the Facebooks of the world because I think that’s part of what tomorrow is,” Yoostar CEO Greg Fischbach told MCV.
A new deal with Ben Stiller will also see his film clips make their way into Yoostar 2. The game is out on 360 and PS3 in March.
The likes of Red Dwarf, Fawlty Towers, Doctor Who and Eastenders could also be making their way into Yoostar 2.
MCV understands Yoostar is looking to strike a deal with the BBC to get British TV clips into the game.
Yoostar CEO Greg Fischbach said: We have very little original British clips in the catalogue, but believe we can have a much richer portfolio going forward.”
