Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has PC release date moved forward

PC owners will no longer have to wait longer than their console owning friends to get their hands on Metal Gear Solid V.

Konami has announced that the PC version of the game will now be released on September 1st, just like on consoles. It had originally been scheduled for release on September 15th.

However, PC players will have to wait until January before they are able to access the title’s online component, Metal Gear Solid Online. It won’t be ready for the console launch, either, being currently scheduled for release on October 6th.

"We initially did not think it would be possible to get such an epic game out onto PC in time for launch alongside its console counterparts,” Konami president Tomotada Tashiro said. All involved have worked diligently to meet the demands of our PC consumers."

Also revealed is that the PC game will include a (presumably selective) behind the scenes video, while pre-orders will receive a free copy of MGS V taster Ground Zeroes.
