MICROSOFT: No price drop for the new Xbox 360

The new-look Xbox 360 will retail for the same price as the current machine.

A redesigned version of the console has been rumoured for some time, but it was expected to arrive along with a cut in the machine’s selling price in order to target more price-conscious consumers.

However the new hardware will be priced at $199 for the 4GB SKU and $299 for either the 4GB Kinect machine or the 250GB version.

Don’t forget that Xbox 360 owners are also due to get two free game downloads every month until Xbox One is released. The first two titles are understood to be Assassin’s Creed II and Halo 3.

The new machine has been styled to better reflect the aesthetics of the Xbox One.
