Millennial Esports acquires controlling stake in Eden Games

Millennial Esports, an event management and technology firm that offers turnkey solutions for the esports industry, has picked up a controlling stake in Eden Games.

Eden Games are a Lyon based developer best known for mobile title Gear.Club. Millennial Esports has acquired 82.5% of the company for €9 million, in a deal worth cash and shares. The company also has the option to buy the remaining shares in Eden Games are one year for €2.15 million

The acquisition is the fourth deal Millennial Esports has announced or completed in 2017, also picking up O’Gaming, Twitch research outfit Steam Hatchet and IDEAS + CARS, a gaming group focused on motorsports. This deal is part of Millennial Esports’ new plans to grow revenue significantly in the competitive mobile space.

"Eden Games has an almost unrivalled reputation as an independent racing game developer with the huge critical and commercial success of both Test Drive Unlimited and V-Rally.” said Millennial Esports CEO Alex Igelman.  

“Their successful recent move to mobile games with their first title Gear.Club brought them to our attention.This acquisition is just the first step in our investment in the platform. The portfolio of games built on their technology platforms will expand very quickly now. That will allow Millennial Esports to take part in the significant growth in Mobile Esports gaming revenue globally."

Recently, Eden Games announced a publishing deal with Microids to bring Gear.Club to the Nintendo Switch.
