Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2 to hit retail this autumn

Mojang and Telltale Games have announced the second season of Minecraft: Story Mode, with the first episode set to launch digitally on July 11th on Xbox One, PS4, PC, Mac, iOS and Android devices.

A retail launch is also planned for the game, but this won’t be released until the autumn, Telltale has confirmed – marking a similar pattern to its previous releases such as The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, which arrived at retail as a season pass disc on March 3rd with two of its five episodes on disc and the rest available to download at a later date.

Minecraft: Story Mode – Season 2 will also have five episodes, and will continue the journey of protagonist Jesse. Developed by Telltale in collaboration with Mojang and members of the Minecraft community, the season will feature voice work from Patton Oswalt, Catherine Taber, Ashley Johnson and Scott Porter, as well as cameos from YouTube celebrities Stampy Cat and stacyplays among others.

The game will also support Telltale’s brand-new multiplayer ‘Crowd Play’ feature, which allows friends and family to join in the adventure by helping to decide the direction of the story from any mobile device with an internet connection.

The first boxed season of Minecraft: Story Mode debuted at No.5 in the UK Weekly Charts when it launched back in October 2015, with its five-episode season eventually extended to encompass eight individual episodes.
