Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure coming to Nintendo Switch

UPDATE: Telltale has announced that Nintendo Switch owners will soon be able to buy the first season of Minecraft: Story Mode as a digital download or physical retail release from August 25th in Europe. Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure will include all eight episodes from the first season of Minecraft: Story Mode – that’s five from the original season pass plus three bonus episodes from the ‘Adventure Pass’ add-on series.

The studio has also announcedthat the second episode of Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2 will arrive on August 15th. Entitled ‘Giant Consequences’, the episode will be available to download on PS4, Xbox One, PC Mac, iOS and Android devices.

ORIGINAL STORY (June 7th 2017): Mojang and Telltale Games have announced the second season of Minecraft: Story Mode, with the first episode set to launch digitally on July 11th on Xbox One, PS4, PC, Mac, iOS and Android devices.

A retail launch is also planned for the game, but this won’t be released until the autumn, Telltale has confirmed – marking a similar pattern to its previous releases such as The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, which arrived at retail as a season pass disc on March 3rd with two of its five episodes on disc and the rest available to download at a later date.

Minecraft: Story Mode – Season 2 will also have five episodes, and will continue the journey of protagonist Jesse. Developed by Telltale in collaboration with Mojang and members of the Minecraft community, the season will feature voice work from Patton Oswalt, Catherine Taber, Ashley Johnson and Scott Porter, as well as cameos from YouTube celebrities Stampy Cat and stacyplays among others.

The game will also support Telltale’s brand-new multiplayer ‘Crowd Play’ feature, which allows friends and family to join in the adventure by helping to decide the direction of the story from any mobile device with an internet connection.

The first boxed season of Minecraft: Story Mode debuted at No.5 in the UK Weekly Charts when it launched back in October 2015, with its five-episode season eventually extended to encompass eight individual episodes.
