Supercell aims to break into new market with fully translated version of flagship title

Clash of Clans heads to Japan

Smash hit mobile game Clash of Clans is heading to Japan.

Now translated into Japanese, developer Supercell will be hoping to follow up on its breakout success in Europe and the US with a strong push in Japan.

The announcement comes after Supercell announced a collaboration with GungHo to cross-promote Clash of Clans and Hay Day with another mobile blockbuster, Puzzle & Dragons.

Special Clash of Clans content, including a themed dungeon and monsters, is set to feature in Puzzle & Dragons, while Supercell’s titles will include extensive cross-promotions from GungHo’s game.

GungHo has had huge success in the Japanese market, generating nearly $4 million a day from free-to-play game Puzzle & Dragons, while boasting 15 million players.

It’s a success story Supercell will be hoping to follow in Japan, after already making $2.4 million a day as of mid-April from its two flagship titles in other regions.
