Mobile ad network releases 'SDK 370'

InMobi debuts non-UDID iOS ads SDK

Following Apple’s announcement that UDID deprecation will be completed by May 1st, mobile ad network InMobi has today released its latest version of the iOS ads SDK.

The release of the new SDK 370 marks the completion of InMobi’s move away from UDID, which was initiated in version 350, and represents “a step in the right direction” for the industry, that will help protect end user privacy while still enabling advertisers to safely target users.

UDID information will no longer be collected or used by the InMobi SDK, making it Apple policy compliant. Now, other user-safe identities introduced by Apple, such as the advertiser ID, will be utilised for targeting users and tracking installs. This is aimed at ensuring that it will be business as usual for developers with regards to monetisation.
