InnoGames cans Rising Generals development

Hamburg studio InnoGames has cancelled the development of its new strategy game Rising Generals.

As of February 9th the developer will take the title offline for good. In a statement, it cited player feedback and not meeting the studio’s "high standards" as reasons for the project’s discontinuation.

All staff working on the game are said to have been moved to other projects.

Last year InnoGames announced its plans to hire some 100 employees by the end of 2014 as it aimed to scale up its business for a push into mobile gaming, having traditionally focused on the browser market.

Part of its plans had included strategy title Rising Generals, though the studio is working on multiple other projects and has also ported games such as Grepolis and Tribal Wars to mobile.

Upcoming titles from the developer include fantasy strategy title Elvenar and an Unreal Engine 4-powered RPG set for release in 2016.
