He leaves after six years at the online games firm, where he served in positions such as live game director and head of publishing. He was instrumental in the success of Bigpoint’s biggest franchise, Farmerama.

Meanwhile, Christian Godorr joins as director of game design and monetisation, starting on August 1st. He leaves a similar position at Ubisoft and boasts 16 years of experience in the games business.

“These new roles bring experinece and skills that underscore our commitment to quality in the mobile market,” said Spil Games CEO Tung Nguyen-Khac.

“We already have a superb team and we are now augmenting it to sharpen our focus on publishing the best in new mobile games and in optimising revenue.

“Jan-Michel really gets what makes a good game great. He has pin-sharp analysis of content, a rare talent in this industry. Christian is a real game veteran and that experience enhances our strengths. But his skill in and enthusiasm for game monetisation mark him out as a true talent.”
