Google is to launch a festival dedicated to indie mobile and VR titles.
The Indie Games Festival will take place in San Francisco on September 24th and highlight 30 developers from the US and Canada.
In order to enter, studios need to have 15 staff or fewer and must have launched – or be planning to release – a game during 2016.
Submissions run until August 14th, and entrance to the main event will be completely free to the public.
As well as looking for mobile titles for its Play platform, Google also highlighted virtual reality games using its Cardboard headset and AR efforts utilising its Tango technology as being eligible.
Developers who enter will be in with the chance of winning prizes ranging from tickets to next year’s I/O conference and advertising space on the Play store to Tango hardware.
