Zynga settles CityVille copyright lawsuit

Social games giant Zynga has ended its legal action on Brazilian games firm Vostu for alleged copyright infringement.

Zynga took legal action on Vostu in June for ‘infringement of its creative works’ including titles such as Zynga’s popular Facebook game CityVille.

Now Vostu has agreed to pay a fee to Zynga and make changes to its games.

A Zynga statement sent to VG247 read: Zynga and Vostu have settled the copyright lawsuits and counterclaims against each other in the United States and Brazil.

As part of the settlement, Vostu made a monetary payment to Zynga and made some changes to four of its games. The parties are pleased to have settled their disputes and to now put these matters behind them.”
