Mozilla introduces browser-based games without plugins

Mozilla has announced – in cooperation with Unity Technologies and Epic Games – that developers no longer need plugins to export games within a web browser.

Mozilla announced earlier this week on its blog that the non-profit organization has been working in collaborration with Unity, Epic and other high-end video game engine developers to bring high-end games to its Firefox browser through a process that doesn’t require a single plugin to properly port.

Unity 5 now offers a WebGL export preview function, while Epic has released an HTML5 exporter in beta for Unreal Engine 4.7.

Unity games Aaaaa…! for the Awesome, Angry Bots and Dead Trigger 2 have already been exported to WebGL and are currently available for interested parties to test out. Here’s a pair of demonstration videos as well:
