Need For Speed World tops 1m users

More than one million users are playing EA’s Need For Speed World.

The online-only racer went live in late July and attracted racing fans with a new MMO-style take on the Need For Speed series. EA is celebrating the game’s accomplishment by opening its content to all players.

As of today, any registered users will have full access to Need For Speed World’s cars and races for free, rather than having to purchase new content. Gamers will still be able to buy in-game extras, such as new SpeedBoost items, double XP periods and even rental cars.

Need For Speed fans have played a critical role in making Need For Speed World a success,” said senior producer John Doyle. Fan feedback has helped shape every aspect of the experience – whether it’s the creation of a new feature or improving the polish and progression.

We’re excited to open the gates so that every Need For Speed World player now has free access to all current and future content, including new modes, cars, features and more.”
