New SingStar for PS4 and PS3 gets UK release date

Sony has finally nailed down a release date for its new version of SingStar that’s coming to both PS4 and PS3.

It will be available in two forms. The first, which is free and is simply called SingStar, is effectively a client through which owners can download premium tracks. SingStar Ultimate Party, however, will be sold on disc and come with 30 tracks included.

Both will arrive on October 24th.

The big new feature is the ability to use an iOS or Android smartphone as a microphone (via a free app), although existing USB mics will also be compatible.

Sony has also confirmed that those who have previously purchased SingStar tracks digitally on PS3 can re-download them for free – provided that they are currently available in the PS4 catalogue.

We are working with our licensing partners to make as much content from the SingStore available on PS4 as possible,” Sony added. It also confirmed that disc swap won’t be possible on PS4.

Here’s the Ultimate Party tracklist:

  • 5 Seconds of Summer – She Looks So Perfect
