In two years from now, Lara Croft will once again be gracing the silver screen.

That’s according to a Hollywood Reporter article, which names a March 16th, 2018 release date for the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot.

Warner Bros had reportedly reserved this slot for an upcoming DC movie – speculated to be The Flash.

Tomb Raider stars Alicia Vikander (pictured) of Ex Machina and The Danish Girl fame, while Roar Uthaug is handling directing duties.

This reboot follows two other Tomb Raider films, 2001’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and 2003’s The Cradle of Life.

Tomb Raider joins Minecraft, Tetris, Assassin’s Creed and Five Nights at Freddy’son the upcoming video game film line-up.

To date, Warcraft: The Beginning is the highest-grossing game movie of all time thanks to strong ticket sales in China.
