AEG and ESL form long term partnership

AEG, the world’s leading sports and live entertainment company, and ESL have formed a long term partnership to broaden the reach of esports around the world.

The partnership will allow ESL to use AEG’s venues, which includes the likes of the Barclays Center, The O2 Arena, and Oakland’s Oracle Arena. AEG will also help out in areas such as live event production, ticketing, marketing and sponsorship for future ESL events. The partnership will also allow both companies to organise more events in the Asia Pacific region, although no specific details on any upcoming events were given.

"Esports has reached mainstream status. Our tournaments are viewed by as many, if not more spectators as traditional sports, so it is a natural progression that industry events increasingly become held at world class venues,” said Steven Roberts, Executive Chairman at ESL North America. Our partnership with AEG enables us to further improve the spectator experience and create additional, global events for audiences and partners.”

ESL has been at the forefront competitive esports gaming from the beginning,” said Shawn Trell, Chief Operating Officer of AEG Live. We are confident that our alliance will be a win-win for both companies and will take esports to new heights around the world. Our mutual aim is to deliver premium customer experiences and new programing that brings esports events to mainstream global audiences.”
