Steam gets steamier

Erotic visual novel Ladykiller in a Bind to launch on steam

Erotic visual novel Ladykiller in a Bind is releasing on Steam announced the game’s creator, Christine Love, today in a series of tweets. It was unknown whether the novel, which features nudity and sexually explicit themes, would be released on Steam after the game’s launch on the Humble Store last October, but today Love confirmed that it’s launching without any censored elements,

The game will launch on Steam on January 9th, which is a beacon of hope both for developers of games with erotic themes, and those creating visual novels, a genre which typically gets some pushback from Steam’s users when they launch or appear on the system’s Greenlight platform.

The option to skip sex scenes and cover up naked characters — in colourful holiday sweaters — has been included since shortly after the game’s initial release, but Love has stated previously that she wasn’t willing to release the game on Steam if the game had to be censored, so both versions will be available for players moving forwards.

"As far as I know, Valve has never had any official policy about sexual content—once we discussed it, they were immediately understanding." Said Love in a tweet. "I wasn’t willing to censor it, since sex is so important to the game, but also they never asked."
