First ever collegiate Vainglory league starts at PAX this weekend

Vainglory developers Super Evil Megacorp have partnered with Collegiate StarLeague to create the first collegiate Vainglory league.

The league will offer students the chance to win scholarship money by competing in the mobile MOBA, although an exact prize pool is yet to be announced. StarLeague has hosted many similar tournaments for Dota 2, League of Legends and Hearthstone, giving out over $250,000 in prize money over recent years.

While exact details on the league itself are yet to be announced, a Vainglory exhibition tournament will be held at PAX East this weekend. Taking place on April 24th at the Twitch booth, the competition will feature teams from UMass Amherst, Westfield State University, Boston University and UMass Lowell. All the action will be streamed live from the show floor via Twitch.

Vainglory isn’t the only eSport to see collegiate action at PAX, as the Big Ten Network will be hosting a League of Legends event at the show.
