NOW Fallout 4 has the highest non-Valve game concurrent player number on Steam

Fallout 4 has only been on shelves for just over a day and has wasted no time in breaking records.

In the last 24 hours, the latest entry in Bethesda’s apocalyptic action RPG saw 445,546 players on Steam, making it the non-Valve game with the highest concurrent player number. That’s according to SteamDB (below).

This is higher than previous non-Valve title record holder, Grand Theft Auto V, which reached a concurrent player count of 364,548 six months ago.

These figures come with some caveats – Fallout 4 requires Steam to play, so this will cover both physical and digital editions of the title. Meanwhile, the Grand Theft Auto V numbers only reflect those playing the game on Steam, which is not a requirement.

Of course, Valve’s own titles are still the most popular games on Steam. The likes of DOTA 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive regularly have concurrent user numbers of over half a million.
