Standalone DayZ finally arrives on Steam

The initial pre-release version of DayZ is now available to purchase and play as an Early Access title on Steam.

Though publicly available, Bohemia stresses that the standalone version of Dean Hall’s hit Arma 2 mod is still very much a work in progress.

"Be aware that our Early Access offer is a representation of our core pillars, and the framework we have created around them. It is a work in progress and therefore contains a variety of bugs.” the developer states in the product description.

We strongly advise you not to buy and play the game at this stage unless you clearly understand what Early Access means and are interested in participating in the ongoing development cycle."

The current version is being sold exclusively on Windows PC through Steam for $29.99. No mention of when the beta and/or official release are expected to arrive.
