Superhot kicks off $100,000 Kickstarter

Time-bending FPS Superhot is already a quarter of the way toward its brand new $100,000 Kickstarter goal.

The game last September became the fastest ever title to be approved on Steam’s Greenlight service, getting the nod in just five days.

Now the Polish developer behind the game is looking to raise $100,000 by the middle of June – and at the time of writing the total already stands at $27,437.

Pledges start at $14 for a full copy of the game and run all the way up to $10,000, for which backers would receive an intriguing sounding Superhot Device that apparently won’t allow you to stop time when you stand still but will be a mysterious item that is connected to the game’s world”.

The game is described by its creators as a unique, stylized FPS game where the time moves only when you move – with this simple mechanic we’ve been able to create gameplay that’s not all about reflexes (the player’s main weapon is careful aiming and smart planning) while not compromising on the dynamic feeling of the game”.

Added the devs: Superhot wouldn’t have made it this far if not for the support of gamers, the press, and fellow developers. Since the original prototype we’ve basically rewritten the game from the ground-up to make it more expandable, dynamic and resulting in a much smoother experience.

During these eight months we’ve fixed a lot of the problems with the original version of the game, heavily reiterated on the art style, and experimented with fun scenarios for the players to ‘solve’.

Turning to Kickstarter ensures that we have access to a constant stream of feedback and ideas, while maintaining control over the development. We have the skills and experience needed to complete the game and we’ve been working on Superhot non-stop for the past eight months, but we need your help to make it even better.”
