The War Z nets over 100k beta registrations in first 24 hours offered

Arktos Entertainment Group and Hammerpoint Interactive have revealed their upcoming MMO The War Z brought in over 100k closed beta registrations within 24 hours of being announced.

The response in the first week since we announced the game has been incredible and it’s totally inspired the team,” said senior game designer Eric Nordin. We’ve been following all of the comments on the various forums as well as our Facebook page and it really validates that we’re creating something that gamers want to play. We’re going to continue working hard and make sure we deliver the best game possible!”

The ‘over 100k’ figure was all that was shared, and that counts only the 24 hours following the opening of registration on July 19th.

It’s unclear if the closed beta has a population ceiling, but safe to say if it’s higher than ‘over 100k’ then so is the actual registration count as it’s been nearly two weeks since the number was surpassed.

The War Z is currently in alpha, with the aforementioned closed beta coming soon and official launch set for this fall on PC.
