Valve expands iD Tech student camps support

Valve will expand its support of iD Tech’s summer technology camps for children and teenagers, the companies have revealed in a joint announcement.

Valve has been a partner of the program for nine years, and starting this year will provide Steam accounts, the Source SDK and Valve games such as Portal 2 for iD Tech students.

"The purpose of our program is to help students prepare for a career in one of the largest growing fields in the world," iD Tech CEO Pete Ingram-Auchi said.

"The support Valve has provided over the years is a tremendous value to the program and our students."

36,000 students attended iD Tech camps in 2013.
