Beta begins later this year; participants to be chosen at random

Valve opens beta registrations for Steam in-home streaming

Valve has opened up registrations for its upcoming Steam streaming service.

The tech will allow users to stream games from their computer to another device in their house that is connected to the same network, such as their television.

The service was revealed in September as part of Valve’s Steam Machine console and SteamOS plans as the company looks to take on the living room.

Beta testing for the service will begin later this year. A select number of users who join Steam in-home streaming group will be chosen at random to enter the beta.
