Blizzard will give its free-to-play card battler Hearthstone a big push with a TV ad that will air during the NBA and NHL finals in the US.
The 30-second short takes a light-hearted approach to the title, showing off little in the way of gameplay and instead showing a fictional arena battle between a few of the available cards – Stormwind Champion, Ogre Brute and Tinkmaster Overspark.
Unsurprisingly when the game itself is shown it’s pictured being played on a mobile phone. The game launched on PC in 2014 and only hit smartphones earlier this year.
Fellow mobile title Game of War enjoyed huge success earlier this year when it was advertised during the Super Bowl, more or less instantly elevating Machine Zone’s title to the higher echelons of the mobile earner charts.
