Bora "YellOwStaR" Kim has retired from professional League of Legends in order to become the manager of Paris Saint Germain’s eSports division.
YellOwStaR has been a regular in the EU LCS since it’s inception, spending most of his time on Fnatic. After 336 professional games, and tons of European championships he has decided to retire from competitive play.
I’m now 24, and to be completely honest with you, I am feeling more and more exhausted after hours of playing,” said YellOwStaR in a post on Facebook. Everything has become more difficult to do for the last few months even though my inner motivation is still as strong as on the first day.”
He will now take the reigns of PSG’s eSports division, which currently consists of a League of Legends team and two FIFA players. YellOwStaR will live in the team house, but will not be a coach or active player.
PSG announced the acquisition of Team Huma’s spot in the 2017 European Challenger Series earlier in the week. They will field a team in the league next split in the hopes of making it to the LCS proper. Interestingly this means that two major sports clubs will be in the EU Challenger series next split, following FC Schalke 04’s relegation a few months back.
PSG also announced that it has signed FIFA players August "Agge" Rosenmeier and Lucas "Daxe" Cuillerier to round out its new eSports division.
