PlayStation Access adds 90,000 YouTube subscribers in five months

Sony’s new-look PlayStation Access team says it is now attracting over 1m viewers to its videos.

Access is an editorial and video platform that is focused on PlayStation events and upcoming games.

The four-strong team was finalised in April this year, and since then the firm has increased its YouTube subscribers from 12,000 to over 100,000.

Focused primarily on video, the Access team also boasts 450,000 Facebook fans and 34,000 Twitter followers.

UK digital and community manager Hollie Bennett says the PlayStation Access team is eager to work with third-party publishers and developers.

Over the last five months PlayStation Access has rapidly changed, not only in the type of content we create and promote, but the way in which we integrate with the rest of the team at PlayStation, how we work with our third party publisher partners and how we interact with our ever growing community,” said Bennett.

Since April 2013, Access has gone through some big changes, including the fantastic organic growth of our YouTube channel, which has been one of our key focuses. Our new content is exciting, digestible, informative and leads the way for PlayStation news. Access is a small, dedicated team who love what they do.

We are always experimenting with new ideas and we hope to grow with the same continued momentum. It is an exciting time to be part of PlayStation and Access is helping to lead the way.”
