PlayStation’s Johnson becomes new SVP and GM for IGN

Damon Johnson has been named as the new senior vice president and general manager of IGN.com.

He joins from Sony Computer Entertainment America where he was PlayStation’s senior director of strategic business development. He had previously worked at Fox News as VP of digital media for Latin America.

"With the launch of two new consoles and the continued growth of mobile gaming, this will be an important year for IGN,” Ziff Davis CEO Vivek Shah stated. We’re excited to have someone of Damon’s calibre and experience in the games industry leading our team."

Johnson added: "It’s a very exciting time in the games/entertainment industry to be joining one of the industry’s most revered brands. I look forward to working with the team to continue growing our audience and revenues by producing the high quality content our fans expect and appreciate."
