Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon coming to 3DS in 2016

The next instalment in the Pokmon Mystery Dungeon series has been announced by Nintendo.

TitledPokmon Super Mystery Dungeon, the game will see a European release on 3DS next year.

Japanese and America fans will have the chance to play the game a little earlier, with releases this Autumn and Winter, respectively.

The Mystery Dungeon run of games breaks fromPokmon’s classic turn-based combat, providing players with a series of procedurally-generated dungeons that they traverse in the form of one of the titular creatures.

Pokmon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team and Red Rescue Team marked the inaugural titles in the spin-off range, released on DS and Game Boy Advance ten years ago.

Since then, the franchise has come to both Wii (as a digital-only WiiWare release) and 3DS, selling in excess of 13 million units across seven standalone titles.
