Portal 2 appearing in Feb

Half-life and Left 4 Dead developer Valve has reportedly revealed a February 9th 2011 release date for its PC and console puzzle FPS Portal 2.

CVG also reports that Office writer and comedy actor Stephen Merchant has been drafted in as the voice of the ‘Buddy Sphere’ Wheatley in the game.

Portal 2 was officially announced in March of this year. It hit the headlines at E3 when it was confirmed that the game would be coming to PS3 – a platform that its developers have historically avoided.

Furthermore, Valve will actually be bringing its Steamworks to the PS3. In doing so it paves the way for possible cross-platform play with Mac and PC owners.

It was confirmed in June that the game’s release date had slipped to an unspecified date in 2011.
