Prison Architect reaches 1m sold in Early Access

Alpha-funded simulation title Prison Architect has sold more than 1m copies since its original public release in September 2012.

Introversion’s latest hasn’t even officially launched yet – the game is currently on Steam as an Early Access release – and already the team has plans for both console and mobile editions of the game.

The milestone represents a major turnaround for Introversion, which found itself nearly out of business in 2010 following the troubled development of its RTS Darwinia’s Xbox 360 release.

The studio also states that it plans on moving Prison Architect out of its alpha state and into its proper commercial launch sometime later this year.
