Project CARS Wii U cancelled

The troubled Wii U edition of Slightly Mad Studios’ Project CARS has been axed.

The developer confirmed as such to Nintendo Life.

The official line is that we’re awaiting an announcement from Nintendo on new hardware,” studio lead Ian Bell told Nintendo Life. As of now pCARS is simply too much for the Wii U.”

Not that this should be a huge surprise – the Wii U SKU was said to be coming out after its PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC siblings.

Then earlier this year, Bell said that it was looking unlikely that the ambitious racing title would make it onto the Wii U. But he did say that the team was keeping an eye on Nintendo’s upcoming new hardware, the NX.
