PS4 owners made up for 20 per cent of all Twitch broadcasts from December 23rd to January 3rd, the streaming video service has announced.
Twitch vice president of marketing Matthew DiPietro explains that the company was confident that integrating stream support with next-gen consoles would be a game changer.”
"Based on our success with PlayStation 4, which currently represents twenty percent of our broadcaster base, our vision was on the mark," DiPietro said.
"We envision a day when broadcasting your gameplay is a ubiquitous piece of the gaming experience. We’re well on our way."
In a separate announcement, Sony revealed that more than 1.7m streams have been broadcast via the PS4 since launch. The firm added that broadcasts have totaled more than 55m minutes between Twitch and Ustream platforms.
Sony announced earlier this week that the hardware to date has moved 4.2m units worldwide.
