Administrator confirms that just 53 staff are left at the studio

157 jobs axed at RTW

Over 150 staff at APB studio Realtime Worlds have been made redundant, the firm’s new administrator has confirmed.

Joint administrator Paul Dounis, of business rescue group Begbies Traynor, said “we very much regret the redundancies that we have had to make”.

Just 53 staff remain at Realtime Worlds in Dundee – a significantly diminished workforce that, for now, is looking to keep the company as a going concern.

Realtime Worlds’ satellite studio in the US has fared better than initially thought, with 14 jobs retained. 28 jobs were cut.

Dounis said the company was continuing to trade, and that APB will remain available to play. “That is something we want all customers to be aware of,” he added.

The studio was yesterday placed into administration.
