1TB PS4 model revealed by FCC filing

It looks as if a PS4 including a 1TB hard drive is on the way, with an announcement at E3 looking very likely.

Engadget reports that an FCC listing has detailed two new PS4 SKUs, one of which houses the larger HDD. Current models pack a 500GB unit. Users are able to manually swap the hardware’s HDD, of course.

The listing also suggests that the new PS4 consoles are slightly lighter than the existing unit. While this could be down to nothing more than some minor internal tweaks or increased design efficiency, speculation has already turned to other more exotic possibilities – such as the omission of the Blu-ray drive, for instance.

The news comes after an earlier leak revealing an ‘Independent Developers Pack’ Xbox One console SKU. The bundle includes codes for Hand of Fate, Threes, IDARB, The Jackbox Party Pack and Never Alone along with DLC for Warframe and access to the Smite beta.

Engadget also reports that the bundle appears to include the previously leaked revised controller, which houses a 3.5mm headphone jack.

References to the new controller have since been removed, with Microsoft saying: "As with many products, bundle offers vary from country to country. We have nothing new to share at this time."
