Borderlands Legends headed to iPhone and iPad this month

The Borderlands franchise is headed to handhelds this month in the form of Borderlands Legends for iPhone and iPad.

The announcement appeared as an ad in the Borderlands 2 digital strategy guide and was spotted by a member at the Gearbox forums.

There is still no formal announcement of BorderlandsLegends and it is unclear if the iOS version will also be developed by Gearbox Software.

Legends will feature the quartet from the first Borderlands game – Brick, Mordecai, Lilith, Roland – as playable characters. It promises thousands of weapons to collect, a strategic cover system”, and randomised missions”.

Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford had earlier spoken of his wish to see Borderlands 2 on the PlayStation Vita. He had also expresed his openness to the game being ported by a different developer, provided there was adequate support from Sony.
