Brotherhood reviews top COD, NFS

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood has received rave reviews, making it one of the most critically claimed games available this Christmas.

At the time of writing, the game boasts a Metacritic average of 91 per cent for the PS3 edition and 90 for the Xbox 360 version – currently outranking all SKUs of EA’s Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit and Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Brotherhood has even topped the initial scores for the best-selling Activision FPS, which peaked at 90 for the Xbox 360 edition.

Critical highlights for the new Assassin’s Creed include a full 10 out of 10 from Eurogamer, who described Brotherhood as one of the best games of 2010”. The title was also awarded 9/10 from NowGamer and Videogamer.com.

The game has fared well in print publications as well, earning scores of 92 per cent from PSM3 and 94 per cent from GamesMaster. The mainstream media also championed Brotherhood, which received a full five out of five from Zoo, Nuts and T3, and four out of five from The Guardian, Front, Loaded and FHM.

CVG gave the title 9.2 out of 10, saying: Overall, Brotherhood is an awesome package with enough new content to kill the competition this Christmas. There’s enough quality and scope here to put Brotherhood in the running not just as a top Christmas purchase, but one of the best action games of the year.”

GameSpot UK awarded Brotherhood 8.5 out of 10, adding: Almost every aspect of the series has seen enhancements in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. There is joy in leaping across the Roman rooftops, taking in the grand sights in front of you and realizing that it is all your own playground. This may not be Assassin’s Creed III, but like Ezio’s smirk, Brotherhood is too irresistible to ignore.”

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood hits shelves on November 19th for Xbox 360 and PS3. A PC version will follow early next year.
