Dead Rising 2 developer trims seven per cent of employees due to 'unsuitable fit with studio goals'

Capcom Vancouver lays off 20 staff

Capcom has laid off 20 staff at its Vancouver studio, the publisher has revealed.

The Dead Rising 2 developer said in a statement that the move was part of the company’s regular assessment of its goals, and was still looking to hire more employees.

"Capcom Vancouver has laid off 20 staff as part of its regular periodic assessment of overall studio goals,” read a statement from the Vancouver developer.

“The studio is actively hiring talented staff to support its goal of delivering high quality games."

The studio added on Twitter that the layoffs came as a result of an “unsuitable fit with the studio goals”.

Capcom Vancouver, previously known as Blue Castle Games, was acquired by Capcom in 2010, and has developed games such as Dead Rising 2, The Bigs and Major League Baseball Front Office Manager.
