Xbox Indie Games, PlayStation 3 and Larabee sessions added to the roster

Develop Conference: Just 9 days to go

There’s just over a week to go until this year’s Develop conference and expo in Brighton.

And more names have been added to the roster of speakers at the last minute, with new talks on Xbox Indie Games, PlayStation, Intel’s next-gen Larabee chip now in place.

Big-name speakers from studios that have also recently signed up to speak include Paul Barnett from EA Mythic and Krome CEO Robert Walsh.

The event takes place from July 14th to 16th at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Brighton. For more information on how to register, click here.

In one session, Microsoft promises to detail the latest updates to its XNA platform and explain how easy it is for developers – both professional and amateur – to quickly prototype content for the Xbox Indie Games channel.

Sony, meanwhile, is out in force – and not just at the highly-technical talk, announced two weeks ago. There are two sessions dedicated to PlayStation Home, one about the development opportunities open to studios on the platform, and another about using Lua to script content for the virtual world.

Developers will also get a chance to find out more abotu Intel’s Larrabee, which introduces a new architecture for visual computing, in a special session from senior engineer Dr Doug Binks.

And don’t forget: the 2009 Develop Awards also take place during the conference. Email Jodie.Holdway@bhpr.co.uk if you’d like to attend.
