E3 2010: Activision stronger than US Treasury

Activision has made the claim that its balance sheet is stronger than the US Treasury’s” at its E3 conference last night.

The publisher’s chief financial officer Thomas Tippl told investors: We’re the only publisher that developers can count on for being around in the long term.

Around $1.5bn was handed to shareholders in 2008. We have a stronger balance sheet than the US Treasury.”

The announcement was made ahead of Activision’s star-studded E3 party which featured appearances from music artists Eminem, Rihanna, Usher and more.

Other key points made at the investors conference included company expansion, plans for a pre-owned revenue strategy and details on the future of the Call of Duty franchise, Guitar Hero and World of Warcraft brands.
